The installation of the Chardons single-belt moving carpet constitutes the second pillar of Les Saisies' modernization strategy. Interconnected with the Boëtet moving carpet, this project responds to a desire to rationalize the ski area and streamline snow front connections. This major transformation replaced the old Chardons chairlift with a high-capacity moving carpet transport solution, better suited to skier flows. By eliminating obsolete aerial infrastructure, the resort enhances flow safety and optimizes the use of its ski area.
Absorbing a constant flow of 1,500 people per hour, the Chardons moving carpet ensures smooth and uninterrupted connection, avoiding the frequent stops inherent to old ski lifts. This infrastructure guarantees efficient mobility between the resort's different key sectors without the apprehension of traditional attachment systems.
The FUNVISIO® protective gallery equipping the Chardons moving carpet ensures operational availability even during degraded weather conditions. The gallery drastically reduces snow accumulation on the conveyor belt, simplifying daily maintenance operations.
