Nestled in Haute-Tarentaise, the authentic village of Val d'Isère has become an internationally renowned resort over time. The redevelopment project of Tête de Solaise follows this legacy. It aims to offer all skiers, regardless of their level, a high-altitude skiing experience.
By replacing the former Lac chairlift with a FUNBELT® double conveyor belt, the resort has simplified skier flow by connecting the gondola arrival to the Madeleine Express chairlift departure, without forcing users to descend back to the valley.
The ski area, which shares 300 km of slopes with Tignes, benefits from a privileged geographical location. With 60% of slopes situated above 2,200 m, snow conditions are exceptional from November to May. The Pim Pam double conveyor belt, which fully benefits from this context, particularly allows beginner skiers to learn safely on superior quality snow while enjoying breathtaking views of the Vanoise summits.
Committed to preserving the alpine ecosystem, Val d'Isère specifically chose a FUNBELT® ski conveyor belt to reduce the visual impact of the installation, particularly the number of pylons on the domain. The FUNVISIO® protective gallery covering the PIM PAM conveyor belt shelters the two conveyor belts from wind and frost. Designed to withstand harsh weather conditions, it ensures constant availability of the installation. By investing in an energy-efficient TWINLIFT® conveyor belt, Val d'Isère combines premium comfort and sustainable approach within one of the world's most famous ski resorts.
In a nutshell...
Installed to replace the Lac chairlift, the double conveyor belt "PIM PAM" optimizes travel on the Solaise plateau. At 2,550 m altitude, it allows quick transfers from the Solaise gondola to the Madeleine Express sector. Its capacity of 3,000 people/hour ensures a smooth connection to the summits or back to the resort.
